THE VOICE OF THE PRAIRIE
An adventure about storytelling: David Quinn and Leon Schwab set out across the prairie during the early days of radio, telling stories (and selling radio sets). David is riffing about a magic journey he took in the 1890s with Frankie the Blind Girl. Through new medium of radio he finds himself reunited with Frances, a blind school-teacher — and a new adventure ensues.
VOP has become one of the most-produced contemporary plays with dozens of productions at such theaters as Wisdom Bridge, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, ACT/Seattle, the Old Globe, the Alley Theatre, the Hartford Stage Co., Next Act, the Colony in L.A., among many others.
